Mauritius, the very name brings to mind gorgeous beaches of powder-white sands kissed by bright-blue waves…Such a picture to behold! So, if you’re one of the lucky souls who would be travelling to Mauritius and in need of some beach therapy, here is a guide to the stunning beaches of Mauritius.
The Best Beaches? All the beaches in Mauritius are out of this world but if we are to pick the best they would be Grand Baie, Trou aux Biches and Île aux Cerfs. Located in the Rivière du Rempart District, the Grand Baie beach is a wonderful beach if you want to hang out with friends and family, watch the sunset and grab a bite. As there are many boats moored here, swimming is not the best thing to do. Trou aux Biches and Île aux Cerfs are ideal for swimming as they feature shallow, clear waters that are safe even for kids.
What can you do? With crystal, clear waters and colourful coral reefs and schools of fish, snorkelling and diving is one of the top things to do in Mauritius beaches. The Turtle Bay Marine Park situated very close to the InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort, one of the most renowned Mauritius luxury resorts; is the perfect place to go snorkelling in Mauritius. Situated on the North West coast, it was the first in the country to be declared a national marine park. A wide variety of coral, fish and turtles species call the marine park their home.
Best time to visit? Mauritius, just like any other tropical island, has a very pleasant climate throughout the year. During the summer, which is the time between November to April, temperatures can reach up to 24.7°C. The winter months which are between July and September, the temperature can drop up to 20.4°C.
