Set amidst the dazzling Indian Ocean, the islands of the Maldives are home to some truly breathtaking beaches each offering a sublime coastal escape.
Private Island Beaches
The beaches on private island resorts are a collective of truly pristine shores. Bordered by palm trees or tropical greenery, these beaches with their white sands are immaculate; be it at a resort in the Raa Atoll or Dhaalu Atoll such as Niyama Private Islands Maldives, you can begin and end your day at an idyllic beach.
Maafushi Bikini Beach
Bikini Beach is one of the main attractions in Maldives on Maafushi Island in the Kaafu Atoll. Bikinis are not allowed at public beaches unless specially designated for tourists such as this stretch of shore. It offers an ideal spot for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling or water sports like kayaking and jet-skiing.
Dhigurah Beach
Located in the Alif Dhaal Atoll, Dhigurah Island is also home to a picturesque white sand beach, ideal for soaking up the sun, having a laidback picnic or swimming. There’s a sandbank close by too, while you can also enjoy some snorkeling and might get to see manta rays and whale sharks!
Vaadhoo Beach
The shores of Vaadhoo Island (Raa Atoll) are best visited at night because here you will find one of the rare glow in the dark beaches in Maldives! The optimal time to see this is on a new moon night (especially between July and February); this phenomenon is caused by bioluminescent plankton that makes it look like the shore is glowing with a myriad of stars.
