Known for its sun-kissed shores, tropical rainforests, rich culture and happening nightlife, Koh Samui in Thailand offers much to enjoy; this is what you can do on a four-day trip here.
Day One
Enjoy a day just lazing in the sun at the beach. There are several shorelines you can be based at including scenic Chaweng Beach home to properties such as Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort. Don’t forget to try some water sports, indulge in spa rituals and once the sun sets, party the night away in Chaweng!
Day Two
There are many sites to visit and experience the island’s heritage and some Chaweng Beach resorts offer cultural and temple tours which are ideal. On such excursions, you can explore local markets, discover unique handicrafts, textiles and artwork as well as visit sacred sites including the Big Buddha Temple and Wat Plai Laem.
Day Three
Spend a day out in nature on an island safari. Such excursions via a land rover will take you off the beaten path to virgin rainforests and inland temples. You can also visit the Na Muang Safari Park where you can see and feed elephants and later, unwind amidst the natural pools of the idyllic Na Muang Waterfalls.
Day Four
Set aside a day for a trip to the Ang Thong National Marine Park within easy reach of Koh Samui; excursions here, give you a chance to visit some of the archipelago’s 42 islands and enjoy snorkelling, kayaking, hiking and discovering secret beaches. Not to be missed is the chance to see the Emerald Lake at Koh Mae Ko.
