Koh Samui is among the most popular islands in Thailand and the second largest of all the Thai islands. With plenty of gorgeous beaches, enjoy your days in the sun lounging away in this island paradise.
Angthong National Marine Park
This protected marine park has 42 islands located within the Gulf of Thailand and is just a boat ride from Koh Samui. The islands have spotless sandy beaches, dense jungles, mangroves, limestone cliffs, waterfalls and obscure grottoes. The beaches here are magical but have lower visibility than other diving sites.
Chaweng Beach
Chaweng is Koh Samui’s biggest town and is home to one of the best beaches on the island. This beach is very popular with foreigners and has a vibrant nightlife centred on the beach with clubs and restaurants. Close by there are also options for a Bophut beach resort such as the likes of Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort, which are a great place to base your stay.
Choeng Mon
Lying a short distance from the Koh Samui Airport, Choeng Mon lies northeast of the island. From here, you can access two off-shore islands, Koh Fan Yai and Noi, famous for their water sports-related activities. Other than snorkelling, you can find sea kayaking and scuba diving here as well.
Taling Ngam
Located 20 minutes south of Nathon Town, this area is calm and laidback, with little developments obstructing its natural beauty. A great beach for snorkelling, with many rocks and reefs to explore its marine life. Its location, however, will be quite a challenge to discover! Ask for help from locals when in need, and you will discover a whole new uncharted beach territory.
