When To Visit
The best time to visit any beach in the South of Sri Lanka is during the cooler months of the dry season, between November and April. The offseason may bring rougher waves and occasional rain, but the beach remains peaceful year-round.
Getting There
Silent Beach is located near Tangalle, about 2 km from the main town and Tangalle hotels. Travellers can reach it by tuk-tuk, motorbike, or private car, or on foot from nearby resorts like Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort. The final stretch involves a short walk through a path cocooned in tropical foliage, leading to the beach.
Facilities
Facilities are minimal at Silent Beach, a fitting look for its untouched charm. Nearby restaurants provide food and drinks, as well as rentable lounge chairs. Remember to bring your own essentials like water, sunscreen, and snacks just in case.
Tips & Essentials To Remember
Due to the deep waters and rough waves, the beach is not suitable for most swimmers, especially children. Additionally, for those travelling by tuk-tuk, remember to negotiate the fare beforehand.
