Gabriel Island
Locally known as “Ile aux Gabriel”, this island can be found around 20 km from the northern coast and is near Flat Island. While only covering an area of around 42 hectares, the island’s unspoilt beach areas are truly exquisite and well worth experiencing even if you’re staying at 5 star hotels in Mauritius by the shore.
Getting There
An ideal day excursion from properties the likes of The Residence Mauritius by Cenizaro, the trip to Gabriel Island and its beach has to be made via catamarans or boats. Tours to the island generally begin from Pereybere or Grand Bay and it takes around 1.5 hours to get to your final destination.
