Beach Location
This iconic beach is in the coastal suburb of Bondi only around 8 km from the city centre. Those finding Sydney Airport accommodation at properties the likes of Citadines Connect Sydney Airport can also easily get to the beach which is around a 20-to-30-minute taxi ride away. Alternatively, one can take a train from the city’s Town Hall Station to Bondi Junction and catch a bus from there to the beach.
A Sublime Beach
Those arriving at Bondi Beach in Sydney will find a picturesque and long sun-kissed shoreline that attracts locals and foreigners alike. It can get crowded during the season, though you can always find a spot on the sand to sunbathe. It’s also a great spot for swimming and the beach is patrolled by lifeguards of the Bondi and North Bondi surf clubs. There’s a scenic parkland here too and a promenade with dining and shopping opportunities.

There are shops here that hire out surfing gear, while surf schools offer all the training you need to ride the waves. The South Bondi part of the beach is ideal for experienced surfers looking to take on some challenging right-handers though take time to familiarise yourself with the conditions beforehand.

For something different, take time to enjoy a relaxing swim at the saltwater pool called Bondi Baths next to this sublime stretch of shore. Amongst the other best things to do in Bondi Beach include dining at cafes along Campbell Parade and venturing along the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk; you can also shop at the Bondi Farmers Market and Bondi Markets on Saturday and Sunday respectively. In October and November, you can view amazing sand creations of “Sculpture by the Sea”, while from May to November, from the vantage point of the northern headland, you may spot humpback whales too!
