Like many travel destinations in the world today, Ao Nang, Thailand is combatting the effects of the global pandemic. So, if you’re planning to visit the city, here are few tips on how to stay safe when you’re out exploring and sightseeing.
Maintain Personal Hygiene
First and foremost, the best thing you can do to stay safe is to maintain your personal hygiene. This means routinely washing your hands with soap or hand sanitizer and properly covering your face if you sneeze or cough.
Avoid the Crowds
If you’re holidaying at one of the many Ao Nang Beach hotels – say, for example, the Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort – the surrounding streets can get crowded. Try to avoid running around town during rush hour and always have some sanitizer at hand to disinfect yourself.
Wear a Mask
If you have to head outside and deal with crowds, one of the simplest ways to reduce the potential spread of disease is to wear a mask. Make sure not to touch the front of your mask frequently and to use a new one each time if you’re sticking to single-use masks.
Avoid Live Markets
Thailand has quite a few live animal markets in operation – be sure to avoid these at all costs. There’s some evidence that the current pandemic originated from similar wet markets in China. Additionally, avoid eating any raw or suspicious-looking meats while out on the streets.
