As far as breathtakingly beautiful islands with white-sandy beaches and tropical backdrops go, the Caribbean has no shortage of them. Throughout history and literature, the Caribbean has been widely regarded for the presence of beautiful islands in addition to tales of Pirate-adventures, and one of the most iconic of all the islands is Providenciales, whose main attraction, Taylor’s Bay.
Luxury resorts in the Caribbean are as plentiful as the beaches, and Providenciales has her fair share as well, such as COMO Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos. This is very impressive since even as recently as the mid-1960s, there wasn’t a singled wheeled-vehicle anywhere on the entire island. Even roads, telephones and electricity were also unheard of. Fast-forward to the modern day, Providenciales is the most populous of the Caribbean islands, as well as the largest, and even has an international airport.
Taylor Bay is located just off the Southern Coast of Providenciales, and her six-hundred-metre-long stretch is notoriously famous for her shallow waters. Given that the bay is sheltered from strong winds by the Ocean Point peninsula, there is a constant calm that is always appreciated by seekers of serenity that frequently grace Taylor Bay. The shallow waters allow visitors to take slow strolls through the peaceful surroundings while the pristine waters gentle envelope their feet. The shallow waters make the bay even more peaceful since it eliminates the presence of loud motorised boats carrying snorkelers and scuba divers and given that parking is also limited to only eight vehicles, engine-noises are also erased from the picture.
Taylor Bay is also a very safe beach since there are no present dangers from tides or sea-creatures, and the shallow calm waters make drowning a near impossibility. So if you like your beach excursions with an extra serving of serenity, then look no further than Taylor Bay.
